Cavnic Pass (DJ109F), also known as Rotunda Pass, sits at an altitude of 1080 meters in the Lăpuș Mountains and links the mining town of Cavnic to Târgu Lăpuș. The area is marked by the mining tradition of Maramureș, with traces of gold and silver mining operations. The pass offers beautiful panoramic views over the Lăpuș Mountains. The road is closed in winter on the Cavnic – Strâmbu-Băiuț section.
