Ghimeș-Palanca Pass (DN12A), at an altitude of 684 meters, is a pass in the Eastern Carpathians located in Bacău County. It should not be confused with Ghimeș Pass (1153 m), located further west on the main Carpathian crest. The area holds significant historical importance — battles were fought here during World War I, and on August 27, 1916, the day Romania entered the war, Romanian soldiers quickly took control of the pass.
