Lăpușna Pass (DJ153C), also known as Bacta Pass, sits at an altitude of 1138 meters in the Gurghiu Mountains, connecting the Reghin area with the Giurgeu Depression. The road traverses a spectacular mountain area in the heart of the Gurghiu Mountains, with dense beech and spruce forests, alpine meadows, and remarkable biodiversity. The Gurghiu Mountains shelter one of the largest brown bear populations in Europe.
