Tabla Buții Pass, at an altitude of 1340 meters in the Tătaru Mountains, is one of Romania’s oldest and most historic mountain crossings. The route connected the Teleajen Valley with the Buzău Valley, serving since antiquity as a commercial road. A medieval customs fortress once stood here. Today, only forest roads cross the pass, accessible primarily to high-clearance vehicles. From the highest point, spectacular panoramas open over the surrounding valleys.
