Turia Pass (DJ113), also known as Bálványos Pass, is a crossing in the Eastern Carpathians at an altitude of 940 meters. Near the pass summit lies Băile Balvanyos, one of the oldest spa colonies in the area. Near the pass stand the ruins of Bálványos Fortress, a medieval stronghold. The area is renowned for its post-volcanic phenomena, including carbon dioxide and sulfur emissions.
